A new First Couple received the keys to the White House Friday generating awkward glances from the outgoing residents. A veteran of the D.C. circuit, former First Lady Barbara Bush, is standing by her leading man as he recovers from illness.

As the Women’s Marches were in full stride Saturday, the NFL’s final two teams march ahead to the Super Bowl in Houston in a couple weeks. In a related show of toughness, 92-year-old ex-president George H.W. Bush, vows to make it to the big game in his hometown despite being released from the ICU Monday.

National Football League (NFL)

And then there were two…The NFL had its championship games this weekend and cheers were heard from celebrating fans in New England and Atlanta. Boos came from much of the NFL world unimpressed with a couple semifinal blowouts.

In the NFC Championship, the Atlanta Falcons dominated the Green Bay Packers 44-21 behind MVP front-runner QB Matt Ryan and his five touchdowns. Ryan can finally smile as he is heading to his first Super Bowl, and in the process shut down his home stadium in style (this was the last NFL game played at the Georgia Dome).

Lucky 7. That’s what New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick were feeling after the Pats overwhelmed the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-17 in the AFC title game to reach their seventh Super Bowl. Considered by many the best ever quarterback and coach ever, the duo brought their winning ways to the campaign trail to help Donald Trump.

Brady, used to getting props for having his better half, Gisele, by his side is catching flak for his “sleeping bag costume” (aka warming jacket) look on Sunday.

The scoop on Super Bowl 51:

Date: Sunday, February 5th at 6:30pm ET

Location: Houston, TX

Teams: New England Patriots versus Atlanta Falcons.

The last time H-Town hosted the game was in 2004 when Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson had the infamous wardrobe malfunction.

As for this year’s entertainment, Lady Gaga will handle the halftime show and is getting fans hyped. Country music star Luke Bryan will be belting out the national anthem.

National Basketball Association (NBA)

The NBA Championship tango in June is a given to many. After all, LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers have faced Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors in the last two NBA Finals, and both teams lead their conference. Monday night represented a bump in the road for the two Goliaths giving other NBA teams hope.

The Cavs, losers of five of their last seven games, fell to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans playing without Anthony Davis, their best player. The Miami Heat, with the second-worst record in the league, beat the Warriors and reminded them that they get paid to play, too.

Tennis

Oldies but goodies… Watching the Australian Open, it seems that Father Time has nothing on Roger Federer (35), Rafael Nadal (30), Venus Williams (36) and Serena Williams (35). These tennis greats are still in the game and could meet in this year’s Finals.

Speaking of the Sister Act, the Williams ladies could meet again Down Under after nearly 20 years. Their first Australian Open matchup was in 1998 when a 17-year-old Venus defeated her 16-year-old sister Serena.

Soccer

Manchester United, a traditional English Premier League powerhouse, is struggling this season and currently in 6th place. Man U. fans did have something to smile about, however, Saturday when Wayne Rooney scored his 250th goal breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s club record. Not bad considering Charlton is knighted and a member of the English Football Hall of Fame.

 Major League Baseball (MLB)

MLB, still in its offseason, is dealing with two tragedies in the Dominican Republic…on the same day. 25-year old Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Venutra, a World Series champion and rising star, was killed in a car crash Sunday. That same day, former MLB player Andy Marte, 33, died in a separate car accident.

College Basketball

Reunited and its feels so good…Doing their best Peaches and Herb imitation, Arizona welcomed back Allonzo Trier from a Performance Enhancing Drug (PED) suspension (unusual for a basketball as PEDs are much more common in baseball and football). The reunion was a success as the Wildcats defeated #3 UCLA knocking them out of the top-5.

This week’s Men’s AP top-5 rankings are:

#1 Villanova

#2 Kansas

#3 Gonzaga

#4 Kentucky

#5 Baylor
