Fun for all ages this week as Moana and Office Christmas Party were the box office winners, while Madonna helped James Corden Strike a Pose in Carpool Karaoke.

The sports world had its share of posing this week, too, highlighted by the Heisman trophy winner.

College Football

Starting out as an unknown back in August, University of Louisville QB Lamar Jackson won the Heisman trophy as college football’s best player. Jackson put up an astounding 51 total passing and rushing touchdowns this season en route to delivering Louisville its first Heisman. Keeping with tradition, Jackson struck a Heisman pose.

Strike out cancer…Pittsburgh running back James Conner declared for the NFL draft. OK, but don’t hundreds of college players do that every year? Yes but Conner’s story is unique because he was a star who lost his junior season to Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Conner returned to action successfully this year and now has his sights on the NFL. #ConnerStrong

National Football League (NFL)

As storms swept through the country Sunday, snow and heavy rain played a leading role in several NFL games.

Dodging snow flakes and Buffalo Bills defenders, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell set a franchise record with 236 rushing yards in a Steelers win. He also managed to pose for a photo in the process.

In a typical December day in Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks in a half-foot of snow to keep their playoff hopes alive.

With only two loses on their resume the Dallas Cowboys (11-2) have the NFL’s best record. Both of their defeats were to the New York Giants; once in the September season opener, and again Sunday night by a score of 10-7.

In the week’s finale Monday night, the New England Patriots edged the Baltimore Ravens and improved to 11-2, tying the Cowboys for the league’s best record.

National Basketball Association (NBA)

Shot for shot. The Milwaukee Bucks, a young team on the playoff brink, are trying to shake things up by changing their logo. The only problem is the folks at Jagermeister say the “Buck” looks a little too familiar.

Posed to win? The New York Knicks are alive and kicking. One of last season’s worst teams has won six of their last seven games and is now in third place in the Eastern Conference.

College Basketball

Basketball is back on campus at UCLA. The team with the most National Championships (10) is ranked #2 nationally. Amazing since the team had a less than stellar 15-17 record last season prompting coach Steve Alford to return his contract extension.

The rest of this week’s AP Top-5 teams:

#1 Villanova

#2 UCLA

#3 Kansas

#4 Baylor

#5 Duke

National Hockey League (NHL)

Need an example of sports ups and downs? Look no further than the league-leading Montreal Canadiens. “Les Habitants” crushed the Colorado Avalanche 10-1 Saturday. A crazy outcome for a hockey game. The Habs win helped remove some of the sting from an equally amazing 10-0 loss they suffered in November.

Montreal continues flying high with the league’s best record, followed closely by the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Philadelphia Flyers.
