Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar were the runaway winners at a politics-filled Grammy’s Sunday. In the sports world, legends had a run-in with destiny.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on in sports…

TINK Sports Big-3

Here are three things you need to know:

1) The Super Bowl is a week away, and Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots fans are getting excited

2) Blake Griffin, an NBA star in his prime, was traded from Los Angeles to Detroit

3) At 36 years old, Roger Federer continues to amaze, winning yet another Grand Slam title

 National Football League (NFL)

The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots meet on Sunday in the 52nd Super Bowl. The game is also a rematch of Super Bowl 39. The Eagles are in pursuit of their first win in three appearances, while the Pats are shooting for their sixth title in ten tries.

Six sounds sweet…With a sixth Super Bowl win the Patriots would tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl victories. It would also cement Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s legacies as the greatest quarterback and coach in NFL history.

Remember the details:

Time: Sunday, February 4th, 6:30pm ET

Location: Minneapolis

Halftime Entertainment: Justin Timberlake

No tailgating, please. While the game will played indoors, the weather outside is expected to be in the single digits.

National Basketball Association (NBA)

Trade in those Olukai’s for Timberlands. Blake Griffin, the Los Angeles Clippers’ 28-year-old, five-time All-Star was shipped off to the Detroit Pistons Monday. The trade could definitely put his romance with Kendall Jenner in jeopardy.

On the positive side, Griffin inked a five-year, $171 million extension in the off-season and will earn that money in a lower income tax state.

Sad song for La La Land but at least they get the Grammy’s back the next four years.

College Basketball

There was little change atop the college basketball rankings this week.

Here are this week’s AP-top 5 teams.

1) Villanova

2) Virginia

3) Purdue

4) Duke

5) Michigan State

Tennis

Many in the tennis world wrote off Roger Federer after he had not won a Grand Slam tournament in four years, from 2012-2016. Well, the 36-year-old GOAT (greatest of all time) is healthy and back in business, having won three Slams in the last year.

#2 RFed’s latest triumph was a five-set victory over #6 Marin Cilic to win his sixth Australian Open and record-extending 20th Grand Slam.

In the Women’s draw, another #2 seed, Caroline Wozniacki beat #1 seeded Simona Halep to capture her first Grand Slam title.
