How was your last month? Probably not as good as Black Panther’s. The Disney and Marvel blockbuster topped $1 billion in worldwide revenue in just its fourth week in release.

In the sports world, all eyes are on March Madness, aka the Big Dance, college basketball’s three week tournament of tournaments. The 68-team single elimination contest is the talk of students, alumni, sports fans, and anyone in an office.

Other sports are not on hiatus these next few weeks (the baseball season starts soon, and the NBA and NHL are closing in on their playoffs) but it sure feels like it as even the professional leagues take a back seat to college basketball in March.

We bring you this week’s newsletter with a focus on college basketball and dancing…

TINK Sports Big-3

Here are three things you need to know:

1) The NCAA tournament starts Tuesday and runs through April 2nd

2) The NBA and NHL are in the home stretch with playoffs beginning in April

3) The MLB season starts in two weeks

Shut Up & Dance is the sentiment heard around the country as the 68 NCAA men’s college basketball tournament teams were selected Sunday and action tips off Tuesday.

Office pools around the country are buzzing with “bracket” talk. If you see your colleagues running around frantically at 11:00am ET Thursday morning, have some compassion. They are probably scrambling to make their last minute selections and meet the noon deadline for bracket submission.

Show me the money…If you don’t believe March Madness is a big deal, think again. 70 million brackets were filled out and over $10 billion wagered on last year’s tournament, according to the American Gaming Association. (BTW – the 2017 national champion was North Carolina).

Same Old Song and Dance? The top team in the country is Virginia, a program making its 22nd NCAA tournament appearance. The Cavaliers, however, haven’t been to the Final Four since 1984, and have never won a National Championship.

Here are the Top-4 seeds in each region. History tells us that one of these 16 teams will most likely be Dancing in the Street in San Antonio after cutting down the nets as the 2018 national champs.

Seed South East Midwest West
1 Virginia Villanova Kansas Xavier
2 Cincinnati Purdue Duke North Carolina
3 Tennessee Texas Tech Michigan St. Michigan
4 Arizona Wichita St. Auburn Gonzaga

Here is a bracket for you to fill out and impress your friends.
