Back to College

Yes it’s time to go back to College, but since we are adults we just root for our team and reminisce about Saturdays tailgating on campus. Let us help you get back some warm fuzzies so you can call your college friends or just Tweet at them about your alma mater, whether it is Ohio St, Michigan, Penn State, UCLA, Nebraska, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Maryland or anyone else.

So here is the skinny on the upcoming 2015 season…Ohio State from the Big Ten Conference won the National Championship last year over Oregon in the first ever four-team college football playoff.  This season Ohio St is back and favored to defend their title.  The major question is who will start at QB: J.T. Barrett (the guy who played well last year but got hurt) or Cardale Jones (who started the last three must-win games and led the Buckeyes to the title)?  They also have returning star RB and Heisman Trophy candidate, Ezekiel Elliot.  Head Coach Urban Meyer is the man in college football like Bradley Cooper is in Hollywood, and he knows he’s good.  His matchup with Michigan and new Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, on November 28, should be exciting.

TCU, from the Big 12 Conference, is another favorite to win it all with a solid defense, explosive offense and a star QB named Trevone Boykin who led his team to a #6 ranking last year.  Boykin is also a top Heisman Trophy favorite.  Watch your mouth…USC Head Coach Steve Sarkisian lost it at a Trojan function, but guess what, he is sorry.  His team is anything but sorry and they are favored to win the PAC-12 Conference, and are led by QB Cody Kessler, another Heisman front-runner.  Maybe more importantly, Snoop Dogg is still a Trojan fan after his son left the UCLA program.

Next up big bad Alabama, the king of the mightiest conference in the land, the SEC.  Head Coach Nick Saban, aka Darth Vadar, has a great defense and good WRs and RBs, they just don’t know who will start at QB.  They may just hand it to RB Derrick Henry and figure out the rest later.  The biggest challenge may come from Auburn who has a new QB in Jeremy Johnson and lots of talent and speed on both sides of the ball.  So this means on November 28th you might want to watch the Iron Bowl on CBS with the winner possibly having an inside track to the final-four playoff.

Just remember these are 18-22 year old kids so anything can happen, and teams like Baylor, Oregon, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Clemson, Florida State or Arizona State could crash the party.

So now you know what to look for on Saturdays this Fall.
